THE SIERRA DE GUARA AND CANYONING
The Sierra de Guara is part of the outer pre-Pyrenean mountain ranges. Its characteristics make it possess an important natural and landscape value in which its geology stands out, which has given rise to an important network of ravines and canyons that today have become one of its main signs of identity.
Located in its highest area is the Parque de la Sierra y Cañones de Guara, declared in 1990, at one end of which we find the town of Alquézar. This space has a natural, geological, anthropological and landscape wealth that makes it worth visiting.

A little history
Talking about the Sierra de Guara is difficult without mentioning canyoning. In the past, the ancient inhabitants explored and made use of the ravines and their rivers, but it was the French who in the 80s began to exploit this activity until they made the area an international reference for canyoning.
They can be found from large canyons such as Gorgas Negras or Vero to medium and small dry or aquatic ravines, with greater or less unevenness and greater or less difficulty.
Let yourself be guided by Alquezar Aventura and get to know the impressive corners that the Sierra de Guara hides. Our guides will accompany you helping you to make the descent in a fun and safe way, in ravines and canyons adapted to each level.
